Today, International Climate Sunday, marks the beginning of the Season of Creation initiated by Pope Francis. During the 2021 Season of Creation (1st September – 4th October), thousands of Christians on six continents get together for a time of restoration and hope, a jubilee for our earth, and to discover radically new ways of living with creation. Amid the crises that have shaken our world, the global Christian family has awakened to the urgent need to heal our relationships with creation and with each other during the ecumenical Season of Creation. More than ever before, the global Christian family will unite to pray and take action for our common home.
The Justice & Peace Group have a table in the Lady Chapel providing information on the climate crisis, with ideas of what we can do to care for our common home. You can also sign the petition started by Pope Francis, calling on world leaders during the COP26 meeting in Glasgow this November to urgently commit to the climate and biodiversity crisis.
