Our headteacher, Mrs Gemma Irvine writes: At St Mary’s, our aspiration is to be the best school in the country and to provide an education to your children which is second-to-none. Our pursuit of excellence requires real drive, determination, and commitment from all stakeholders. Governors, in particular, play a crucial role in helping shape and influence the direction the school takes. You may have been a governor in the past or conversely be put off by your lack of experience or perception of how many hours this role might involve. Well – fear not! At St Mary’s (and all other schools in the Bosco Catholic Education Trust) we limit the length of any meeting to 1.5 hours and governors are only expected to attend one meeting each half term. We give you all the support and guidance you need and work well as a team. Being a governor is a really exciting and worthwhile role, giving you the opportunity to invest in your child’s school and influence its future direction. Whilst we’d be interested to hear from anyone prepared to become a governor (as we have a parent governor vacancy), we are particularly looking for anyone who is a practising Catholic (for Foundation Governor roles) and anyone with a background in finance. Do please contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org or 01903 234115 to make the next step.
Really hope to hear from you soon!
