Saturday 29th January – Sunday 6th February 2011
There is to be a census of the population in 2011. This will try and list all of the people that live in the country, but it probably won’t include “hidden homeless and asylum seekers. God’s own son was born into poverty in the year of a census, will this census recognise the exclusion many experience or reflect the world’s material values?
Scripture tells us that in God’s Kingdom the least shall be first. Are we living in true solidarity with people that are poor, homeless and excluded?
On Sunday 6th February 2011 there will a speaker from the Worthing Churches Homeless project coming to the 10.30 mass to give us an update on the project. There will be a display and newsletters available in the social area. There will also be a retiring collection for the project.
On Tuesday 1st February there is a meeting of the Justice and Peace group in the parish centre at 7.45pm please come along and find out what we do.
Thank you for your continued support of Worthing Homeless Project with your generous donations of food and clothes. The collection box for your donations is in the sacristy.
