Our Harvest Festival will take place on Sunday 4th October. At this festival we give thanks for ‘fruit of the earth and the work of human hands’. We are supporting Worthing Churches Homeless Projects Harvest Appeal which is based
on an empty shopping bag and us helping to fill that bag.

Imagine if you could not afford to choose what you would like to eat at the supermarket and had to rely on hand outs. A list of items needed by Worthing Churches Homeless Project are as follows: Men’s Deodorant, Tinned Tomatoes, Marmite, Cereals, Stock, Cubes, Gravy, Salt and Pepper, Sugar, Cleaning Products, Cooking Oil, Conditioner,
Stuffing, Biscuits, Herbs, Honey, Coffee, Shampoo and Custard Powder.

Thank you for your support.

CAFOD Supporters Day

Are you passionate about human development and social justice?

CAFOD would greatly value your help within the diocese working on issues such as these. There are many ways you could be involved so, if you have time to spare, please get in touch and we can discuss what is right for you.

We would also like to invite you to a Supporters Day on the 13th of September at DABCEC, Crawley. It will be a great opportunity to find out about latest news from CAFOD in addition to hearing from Sol Oyuela, CAFOD’s climate change analyst.

Night Shelter and the Preda Project

The Night shelter are in need of the following items fruit juice, sugar, tinned meat, tinned tomatoes, tinned fruit, mayonnaise, salad cream, men’s boxers, deodorants, sandwich bags and rucksacks.

The box for donations is in the Sacristy.

We are still supporting our parish project, THE PREDA PROJECT, rescuing children from adult jails and rehabilitating them, by tithing money from the weekly collection as suggested in the covenant for the poor which we adopted in this parish ten year ago.

Our parish covenant with the poor is an opportunity for us all, individually and as a parish to look at what we are doing with the poor and marginalized at home and overseas. Over the coming weeks we will be giving you more information about the covenant.

Inter-Parish Quiz

The Worthing Catenian Circle are proposing that organisations from the parishes get together in October to compete against each other in a Quiz.

It is hoped that several teams will volunteer and bring supporters with them, so that the evening turns out to be an enjoyable social event.

Provisionally, the date has been set for Friday October 23rd, and the venue St Michaels Hall, High Salvington. Time provisionally 7.00 pm. Contact details: Dennis Key Tel: 01903-243914.
