Fr Silvester An update from Fr Silvester who the parish have supported with collections of shoes & medical supplies “We have not had any deaths as yet but we do not know what is going to happen because there is very little testing going on and the lock down is still on as well. The lock down has now become the main problem as families are finding it harder to feed themselves kids are also missing out a lot on schooling”.

CAFOD’s Coronavirus Petition – currently has 6,000 signatures which is higher online than any CAFOD petition before.  Please encourage parishioner’s family & friends to sign as numbers are much lower than when paper petitions are able to be used.  Please share the new short Coronavirus video which also has a space at the end to sign

Hello from the Living Pearl. The following message is from one of the new parish projects we’re supporting (the other one being Aid to the Church in Need)   A quick update, 3 boys have finished college and are venturing out into the world, 2 have been adopted into families but as fast as they leave us new orphans arrive! 2 boys 11 and 14yrs, have been brought to us from the mountains, a convent have been feeding and clothing these boys for a while hoping their home life would get better but to no avail. We are also expecting another boy 7 yrs old from a known city that has high drug and alcohol addiction. . His father has died and his mother is a drug addict. We have had 8 boys from that city alone and its not that big. The quarantine has again been extended till the end of July. We continue to work in our fields. We have a great potato crop this year. Our orchard is in blossom, cherries, raspberries and various other fruits are ripe or ripening. The boys are doing a good job of eating them as soon as they are ripe. We are all healthy and happy thank God! We pray for all the parishioners of St Mary’s of the Angels and hope that this pandemic not only ends soon but that we learn from it and grow.  God Bless from all the boys and staff!
