CAFOD is calling on calling on private creditors to stop holding many poorer countries to ransom. Companies like BlackRock, JP Morgan and HSBC continue to receive debt payments. “This is immoral in a pandemic where we desperately need global solidarity and collective action.  Cancelling the debt payments of some countries in the global south will support them to reinvest this money into their health systems and services.”  Christine Allen – CAFOD Director https://cafod.org.uk/

Live Simply Tip of the Week from Laudato Si Movement.  The assessment from the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change ( IPCC) says things are poised to get worse…but also makes it clear that the future of the planet depends in large part on the choices that humanity takes today.

From Pax Christi The peace we seek cannot come from weaponry, but from a commitment to justice and nonviolent actions which recognise the dignity of every human person and all creation. We reject models of security that rely on fear, the demonisation of others or on the strength of arms – conventional and nuclear. (Pax Christi Vision Statement 1995) https://paxchristi.org.uk/
