Find out more about Fairtrade Cotton. There is a campaign to get the UK government to take action to ensure that trade benefits the poorest cotton farmers in West Africa.
The first step in our campaign for trade justice for West African cotton farmers is to persuade the UK government to push the EU to stop trade-distorting subsidies in the new Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) due to come into force
in 2013.
Please sign the letter to Caroline Spelman, Minister of State for Environment, who is responsible for raising this issue with the government. The letter will be available this weekend and next weekend. PLEASE spare a few minutes to help the poor West African cotton farmers get a fair deal which will enable them to continue to produce cotton and work their way out of poverty.
Fairtrade food goods will be on sale 13th March 2011
