Readers & Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

A happy and thriving parish like ours needs plenty of readers and Eucharistic Ministers to keep the wheels of the Masses well-oiled. If you would like to be considered for one of these ministries, and there’s nothing preventing you, please email Fr Terry (or give him a hand-written note) and we will be in touch. Readers will be asked, as you will understand, to have a dry-run to ensure that they are comfortable with what’s involved. Don’t be shy! Many thanks.

Parish Choir Practice

On Saturday 2nd February, there will be a choir practice at church starting at 3.00pm. This will be to practice the music for 10th and 24th February. This should take no longer than an hour. If there is a general consensus to start at 2.00 pm, or some other time, please let Al Stepney know.

If it is cold we will practice in the Parish Centre, as its easier to heat.

Music will be notified by 26th January, with YouTube links where possible.

Proposal to Decriminalise Abortion

Abortion decriminalisation debate on 23rd October

At present abortion remains a criminal act unless certain conditions are met. Although these conditions have been liberally interpreted they still provide some important protections both for women and for their babies. There is now a campaign to take abortion completely out of criminal law, at least to the point when the baby can survive outside the womb. There will be a Parliamentary debate on this on 23rd October. It is important that our MPs are aware of our concerns and the basis for them as soon as possible.
