Fr Terry Martin

18 years ordained!

In 1999, six new priests were ordained for our diocese: Fr Miceal Beatty, Fr Chris Bergin, Fr Stephen Hardaker, Fr Peter Johnstone, Fr Terry Martin and Fr Peter Newsam. On 25th May we gathered (minus Fr Miceal) for a happy ‘Coming of Age’ 18th anniversary celebration. Canon Tony Churchill kindly joined us and shared some thoughts and challenges from his 47 years of experience. We had prayer time and Benediction, before heading out for a splendid lunch in the glorious sunshine. Please pray and pray and pray for many vocations to the priesthood for our diocese.

Mary’s Month of May!

Our Lady is especially honoured in this month of May; the season of “blossoms the fairest”. She is such a powerful and beautiful model for us all to emulate: possessing all the necessary virtues to place Jesus at the centre. She carries him in her womb – and he’s actually (physically) at the centre of her life; she cradles him in her arms as he is taken down from the cross … She cannot take her eyes off him. She invites us to live the virtues that she models: fidelity, purity, constancy, humility … She knows that she is a child of God and brings to birth the Son of God. May she pray for us. Holy Mary, our Hope, Seat of Wisdom, pray for us!
