The SVP gives help and seeks help

The lockdown has not stopped the SVP offering friendly practical help to whoever needs it.

The Covid pandemic has led to increased loneliness, loss of independence and depression among local people. More people are suffering the results of unemployment and poverty. New problems keep coming. We have been helping local people with food shortage, shopping, telephone support, repairs, medical appointments and more.

The SVP at St Mary of the Angels is part of the St Vincent de Paul Society of England and Wales, more commonly known as the SVP.  The SVP offers friendship and practical help to all without regard to faith, ethnicity, status or sexual orientation.

The SVP is rising to the challenge of the pandemic.  Will you help? We ask you to refer people to us, pray for our work and to think about what other help you might give. Could you give a donation, give your time as a temporary volunteer, or even become a visiting SVP member?
