For Many years a small group of people badgered the Holy See for a Revision of the Missal and New Translation. This was done some years ago but as the translation was somewhat old fashioned and the Bishops along with many people did not see the need for a change its introduction was delayed. However, it is now possible that it may be introduced within the next year. A group of people including Bishops has drawn up a petition to the Holy See for it to be trialed in a few places to see if it is necessary or acceptable to people at large.
