Justice & Peace Group Update

CAFOD:

We are having a Tombola in the Social Area after Masses this Sunday 22nd April. This will be our last major CAFOD fundraiser to take advantage of the Government's pledge to double the proceeds.

Night Shelter:

Our weekly collection of tins of food, clothing, blankets etc continue's which they are very grateful for, please leave in the Sacristy.

Parish Project:

Amazing Youth Centre Uganda The following article gives the latest update on the project.

Recently, more than 900 questionnaires have been carried out to better understand the needs of the young people in Patongo and the surrounding rural areas. The information from this activity, once fully collated, will provide valuable insight into how to better run and, if necessary, modify the programmes the organisation delivers, so as to further meet the needs of the beneficiaries effectively. Another exciting piece of news is that a new counsellor has joined Agnes Lagen’s team, Godfrey Ocittiugi. He has been warmly welcomed, and is much needed to help in the counselling work with the young men, and brings with him greatly beneficial experience from his previous role as an HIV/AIDs Counsellor at Kalongo Hospital in Kalonga. There have been some heavy rains of late, which do affect the site, but the building work on the Centre is progressing, and we are hoping for it to be finished by the end of May.

Tickets are available for the Spring Mega Raffle after all Masses (many prizes) £1 per ticket. Don’t forget to buy yours!

All monies raised will go towards refurbishment of the kitchen in the Parish Centre.
