Let Justice Prevail say christian women of Malaysia
March 2nd is the Womens Day of Prayer and a service will be held at 2:30pm in the West Worthing Baptist Church, South Street, Taring. All are welcome.
On Friday, March 2, the women of Malaysia invited the world to join with them in the World Day of Prayer celebration praying under the theme: Let Justice Prevail. The women of Malaysia name fair and just governance as the basis for peace and harmony in the social order, saying: “In the midst of such diversity, tolerance and harmony, fair and just governance for all is vital. It is our prayer that all races, ethnic groups and religions will work together for religious harmony and a just and integral development for everyone.”
World Day of Prayer, co-ordinated by the Women’s Inter-Church Council, is a worldwide movement of Christian women of many traditions who come together every year on the first Friday of March to observe a common day of prayer.
Further details are on the church notice board.
There will be a number of small group meetings (lasting about 1 ½ hours) each week during lent to discuss and reflect on the gospel readings and on the Mass.
Why not try them out even though you may not manage all the meetings? Parishioners have found them very rewarding, prayerful and friendly.
The guideline booklets called "Communion with Christ" are available free of charge in the church shop. If you would like to run a group you will find that the booklets are very helpful and take you through each step and the holy spirit will do the rest. These are the groups at the moment with the times and dates and contact numbers of the meeting:
- From Friday 24th February at 8 p.m. meetings just north of central crossing. contact Anne on 01903-231014.

For Many years Colin White has done a magnificent job of contributing a piece to the A & B News each month. We are most grateful to him for his great support and ask the Lord to Reward him. However, he would now like to hand this task on to someone else. I would grateful if someone would take this on and also perhaps act as publicity officer for the Parish.
During all Masses throughout Lent:
- ALLELUIA is not said or sung. Instead a phrase is used at the Gospel Acclamation.
- BIDDING PRAYERS end with “Hail Holy Queen.”
After Mass on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday there will be a SHORT WAY OF THE CROSS.
On the 3rd Sunday of Lent there will be a LENTEN ALMS BOX for the Enclosed Orders of the Diocese.
Other Lent events will include:
- Taize Service on Thursday 8th March at 7.30pm
- Way of the Cross at Cissbury Ring at 3pm on Sunday 25th March
- Penance service on Palm Sunday (1st April) at 3pm.

It was great to have so many join in with our International Mass last Sunday and my tremendous thanks to all who organised the event and took part in the Mass and provided such a lovely Shared Lunch. May God Bless you All.
Several people expressed appreciation of the event and ask for something similar in the future. I hope to call a meeting in the near future to establish a SOCIAL COMMITTEE to look at establishing a programme of events through the year. Volunteers Gratefully Received! Participants Even More So!
